BSc.BVMS (Hons) MANZCVSc. (Dairy Medicine), Dairy HRM (Dairy)
I am a preventative health veterinarian, facilitator and educator with special interests in mastitis, lameness, antimicrobial stewardship, communication and leadership. I have been able to incorporate my study in Human Resource Management into enabling capability building on farms and dairy service industry. I have led Australian Dairy industry projects in biosecurity, fertility, mastitis, development of resources for animal health and welfare monitoring.
I am currently leading a dairy antimicrobial stewardship project working with farmer discussion groups exploring motivators and barriers to improvements in animal health and treatment oversight: learning just how much knowledge and experience there is in farmer groups when we talk less and listen deeply!
I also have an interest in improving communication and trust in agricultural supply chains to support food sustainability for our growing populations.
Extensive international travel and work has also taught me to always ‘seek to understand, then to be understood’!
